Duplicate Content, Penalized?
I have made a blog before, and it’s been about 5 months old. Just this last week, I decided to create a new blog and what I did is I do posted one topic I have in my old blog. That post was indexed by Google. The fear that I have is that, will I get penalized with it? And so, to solve that curiosity, I asked my professional blogger and a webmaster friend regarding that trouble I have in me.
For about 3 days, I get a response from him, of which he had made an effort too, to ask lots of his colleagues in an seo service . Here are the answers that he gets, out of the concern I lay on him.
First answer he got is that, he has done same thing with what I did. But then the case is that they have moved that content from one domain to another provided that it was done on the same server. And he had said that, they didn’t receive any penalties from Google for instance. And he added that he honestly think that if it wasn’t indexed then there’s no problem with that. But the case is, it was indexed.
And then I got this good advice from my friend, “What you should do is to rewrite or reconstruct that post before adding it to your new domain. If I should not consider that first advice then he told me to delete that old post on my old blog and then I can post it to my new domain, that’s to avoid duplicate content. Or if not, then what I should do is to create a link pointing to the old post.”
And with those advices, I think what I should do now as a writer, is to consider doing a revised article with that post. Then, that would be good for my site and I could be consider as writer now. That will be a good way to avoid duplicate content and getting penalized with Google.
